How to prevent Action Battlefield from crashing?

I installed the MOD Action Battlefield for Battlefield 1942 but when i'm loading up a battle it crashes on me, is there anyway to fix this? How to prevent Action Battlefield from crashing?
It could be that the server you are trying to connect to is running a different version.

In theory all servers should be running the 1.6 +1.61b patch for bf1942 and the latest version of Action Battlefield whatever that is.How to prevent Action Battlefield from crashing?

If the game ever crashes just before you can get into the battle, or after a couple of minutes of play, try lowering Sound Detail in Sound Options. Because there is more action, therefore more sounds played simultaneously, it's giving the sound card more chances to crash the game. Hopefully future patches will update the game and fix sound card issues.
