where can i find some good mods THAT WORK and are free.
i had a world war 1 mod once but it didn't work.I got battlefield 1942 and i want some mods for it.?
Make sure you have patched bf1942 to the latest version, or mods may not work.
You need to install the 1.6.19 patch and then the 1.6 to1.61b incremental patch: ftp://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/patches

The most popular mod used to be Desert Combat with Desert Combat Final which was based on modern combat.
Forgotten Hope was also popular, which is WW2.
Eve of Destruction is Vietnam based.
There were a few other popular mods, galactic conquest, bf pirates, bf1918, but I would be surprised if anyone still plays any of them online apart from DC/DCF.
