Battlefield 3 weapons question?

So, it's obvious that in BF3 you have certain weapons depending on what side you are. Say if you are US you have SVD, and if you're Russians you have MK11 Mod 0... Anyway, there is this one rifle called SKS, and you have it on both sides! I somewhere read when you reach a certain rank, that you can use ALL weapons, without depending which side you're on. Is this true? If it is, what is the rank I need to reach to unlock this feature? Thanks.Battlefield 3 weapons question?
Yes. After you unlock the last 'new' weapon in a class your next unlock is the starter weapon but for the opposite side. However you are always restricted to use it in the class in question. It is not a matter of rank however... Then again you naturally rise through the ranks as you level the class.Battlefield 3 weapons question?

I'm pretty sure the SKS is only on recons, but it may be available for all sides, usually I see it with 25's or 30's, though that doesn't necessarily mean much.
