Why is Battlefield 1942 so cheap and yet it's popular?

I have battlefield 1942 for mac. I dislike



1. No ambient sounds at all. so boring because of this

2. weapons sounds sound like toys, at least the gun you start with does. unrealistic sound effects

3. frame rate slows down so much when there is action

4. Desert Combat mod doesn't work, when i select an instant battle in it , my monitor goes dark and stops working.

5. unrealistic graphics and textures.

Get a good 3d card or it would b better if u change ur mac to windows OS system..Why is Battlefield 1942 so cheap and yet it's popular?
It's cheap, and if you begin playing it once, you'll start ignoring all the graphical crap.
