When I install the Battlefield 2142 1.5 Patch does it install a mod?

I just bought the game and when I first tried to go on multiplayer it told I had to patch up the game. So I installed the latest patch (full so I wouldn't have to bother with everything else separately) but when I did and tried going on multiplayer again it told me that "Only unmoddified verisions of the game could be played on the server" or something like that. Simply saying that the patch must've installed a mod. I downloaded it straight from the BF site so it should be exactly what I need. Anybody know what's wrong?When I install the Battlefield 2142 1.5 Patch does it install a mod?
You might have installed the wrong patch. There is a 1.50 full patch and a 1.50 incremental.

The 1.50 incremental wont work, unless maybe you have the deluxe version of 2142. The 1.50 full patch doesn't always work anyway as there is something wrong with it!



The best thing to do would be to uninstall the game and install in this order:



Skip to step 2 if you have never installed 2142.

1. Uninstall BF2142, manually if necessary: http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php鈥?/a>

2. Install BF2142

Skip to step 6 if you have the deluxe edition

3. Patch with 1.40 http://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/patches鈥?/a> or http://www.gamershell.com/download_21972鈥?/a>

Skip to step 6 if you don't have the Northern Strike booster pack.

4. Install the Northern Strike Booster (C:ProgramDATA\Electronic Arts\EADM\cache\{blurb}\bf2142_bp1)

5. PATCH WITH 1.40 AGAIN

7. Install Punkbuster services: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?pag鈥?/a>

9. If necessary make sure you allow the services PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe from your "C:\Windows\system32\" folder (or "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\" on 64bit systems) in security software like virus scanners and/or firewalls.

In case of doubt, manually add both to your firewall's allow list.

After the installation process you will only find PnkBstrA, so just make sure this process file is not blocked initially
